The only things you are responsible for are choosing a receiving hospital and physician, time and date for trip, and furnishing payment information. We can assist you in selection of a receiving facility if you are unsure of the best choices. If your travel dates are flexible, we will work with you on trip options. Skyservice Air Ambulance will take care of everything else – air and ground transportation, medical team, flight crew, accompanying passengers, coordinating medical personnel and facilities, preparing insurance claims, and anything else that may arise. Our goal is a smooth transport for all involved.
Included in an air ambulance quote are ground ambulance, medical personnel, flight crew, equipment, medications and the flight itself.
We accept various forms of payment: American Express, VISA, Master Card, Bank Wire-Transfers, all services must be paid for in advance of a service being rendered. To seek insurance reimbursement we provide a detailed paid receipt and appropriate medical records once the trip has been completed.
The simplest answer, “Sometimes”: There are a number of factors involved with determining whether or not an insurance carrier will pay for air ambulance and ground ambulance transportation. Each patient situation is unique and provides many different nuances that are not clearly definable within a given formula. We do not accept direct assignment of benefits from insurance companies, you must first pay for the service and submit our detailed invoice along with the in-flight medical records to your insurer for consideration for reimbursement.
Yes, we offer catered meals for family members and for patients if there are no diet restrictions. We will also accommodate special diets and special requests.
This is determined by the type of aircraft used to transport the patient, the number of medical personnel on board, the patient’s condition, and medical equipment needed.Skyservice Air Ambulance uses medically-dedicated Lear 45XR with two critical care medical personnel onboard. The Learjet 45XR can accommodate one or two passengers.
Generally, there is room for no more than 2 small pieces (“carry on type pieces”) of luggage due to the significant space utilized by onboard medical equipment and personnel.
